RO plants are used extensively in the food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical and electronics industries. It utilizes computer programs for studying the water chemistry to select the most suitable membrane configuration and to provide a plant which gives a low water-rejection rate. Further help is provided to the client to make use of, often by further treatment, of the reject water. Both our engineered Brackish and Seawater R.O. plants are designed with unlimited capacities.

Providing water purification for pharmaceutical applications is a very complex venture. Unlike most other industries the system you put in place must be designed and managed using validation methods that prove the system works as designed and that lets you know the moment it does not work properly. These water systems must be designed to eliminate all instances of stagnant water and bacterial growth within the system. WETICO provides complete water treatment solutions in compliance with FDA standards for pharmaceutical applications where ultra-pure water is required.

Lime-soda ash treatment for the reduction of hardness involves the addition of slake lime [Ca (OH)2] to a hard water supply to remove the carbonate hardness by precipitation. The precipitation being removed by filtration. Non-carbonate hardness is in turn reduced by the addition of soda ash (Na2C03) to form insoluble precipitate, which is also removed by filtration. This particular method of removing hardness is designed and engineered for domestic and beverage industry applications.

The presence of hardness salts (calcium and magnesium ions) in the makeup water supplies to boilers, cooling and process waters can have a serious impact on their performance. Loss of heat transfer in boilers, and poor cooling in re-circulating cooling Systems; results in an increase in both energy and water consumption, and an increase in operating costs. WETICO’s standard range effectively removes these hardness salts and provides a valuable return on our client’s investment. The water softeners use the well-proven “Ion Exchange” process to convert the hard water ions of calcium and magnesium to sodium ions. The resultant water to service is typically less than 4 ppm total hardness. Our custom-made units are engineered to various capacities based on the type of application and the raw water quality. Designed to satisfy industries and domestic demand our standard range produces 1 to 35 m3/h of soft water.


De-ionized (or de-mineralized) water is water close to its purest state (water at less than 10 MS conductivity). As such it acts as a natural solvent and is fairly unstable, wanting to dissolve minerals in order to become stable again. Therefore, for many applications (such as hospitals, laboratories, production processes etc.) and it is a useful addition to ensure a high-water quality. WETICO supplies a wide range of deionization equipment, from twin bed deionization to mixed bed cylinders. WETICO Deionization units are engineered based on the water application and raw water analysis to provide permeate water for ultra-pure applications the deionization plants are used for process water, boiler makeup water and condensate polishing.
